Snow is falling, lights are twinkling, and the most wonderful time of the year envelops us in its warmth. Since its establishment in 1939, Norman’s Hallmark has brought festive joy and year-round delight to the greater Philadelphia area.

To our great delight, we recently learned that our esteemed partner, VoiceNEXT, has become the exclusive provider of communications systems for Norman’s Hallmark. In a heartwarming conversation with Michael Galkin, co-founder of VoiceNEXT, we delved into the narrative behind this exciting partnership.

Michael, a self-professed “serial entrepreneur,” boasts over 35 years of expertise in the telecommunications industry.

Norman’s Hallmark stands as one of the largest Hallmark franchises, serving the greater Philadelphia area with over 120 store locations. Offering an array of cards, gifts, and souvenirs, Hallmark is a true haven during festive, ordinary, and even difficult times.

We soon discovered that the warmth and goodwill that characterizes Hallmark was not present behind-the-scenes when it came to their telephony needs. Norman’s Hallmark struggled to manage multiple vendors for various services across its locations.

This resulted in a logistical nightmare when it came to support and upgrades, exacerbated by an unpleasant experience with a less-than-honest VoIP vendor that led to a communications crisis at their headquarters.

In search of a better solution, Norman’s Hallmark encountered VoiceNEXT, thanks to their effective marketing, search engine optimization, and solid reputation in the Philadelphia area.

Called on to take a pitch to their headquarters, VoiceNEXT presented a “cookie-cutter approach” that resonated with Norman’s Hallmark, promising enhanced efficiency and user-friendliness for their staff. 

Given Norman’s Hallmark’s strict security measures to safeguard their data and inventory, the deployment posed some new challenges. However, Michael shared the VoiceNEXT, true to their modus operandi of “under-promising and over-delivering,” successfully executed the installation on time and under budget.

Their transparency in pricing and commitment to superior customer support and service drives VoiceNEXT’s 95% success rate.

The inaugural deployment took place at the brand new Norman’s Hallmark headquarters during its construction phase. Despite limited access, VoiceNEXT was creative and utilized the flexibility of PBXware to deploy a solution quickly and successfully. 

PBXware is an innovative and secure PBX solution that helps organizations enhance internal communications and customer experience at a competitive price. PBXware supports basic and advanced call operations via traditional desk phones or more modern solutions, depending on user needs.

Norman’s Hallmark stores required a much simpler solution, but benefited from the harnessed power behind the system to support ease-of-use on the frontline with powerful security and cost-savings behind the scenes.

Following their triumph at the new headquarters, VoiceNEXT began extending their services to all of Norman’s Hallmark’s stores and locations. Rather than shipping the solution, they go to each store in person to ensure a seamless installation and quick employee adoption of the user-friendly system.

The demographic of Hallmark employees appreciate the easy-to-use system. The new system facilitated an upgrade from two landlines per store to three Yealink VoIP telephones, enabling easier communication that is more efficient and cost-effective.

At the time of our call with Michael, VoiceNEXT was supplying communications solutions to 54 locations, managing a total of 164 extensions. The journey continues, with ongoing onboarding of new and existing stores, showcasing their commitment to sustained growth, efficient operations, and the continued spread of joy and connectivity throughout the greater Philadelphia region this holiday season.
